Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 11 am–10:30 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach The Orient at (770) 612-2727; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, theorientatlanta.com.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.4 out of 5 from 1,486 reviews, which is a strong result for a chinese restaurant in Atlanta and suggests consistent service.

Atlanta is in Georgia, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Atlanta follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

BURNT FOOD AGAIN!!! My family and I get takeout from here about once a month for our weekly scrabble night. The bill is anywhere from $70-$100. As of late the food is very inconsistent. I’ve had to call them about burnt/ old food. I have even started opening and looking at the containers before I leave. Today It looked fine but when I got home it was BURNT on the bottom of both patties! The kitchen knew what they did!!! Poor quality standards. On top of that they always ask me to bring the food back to be remade! That’s irritating. I’m not coming back up there. I have to ask for credit. Then they hem and haw and get the manager to approve a $19 credit. That should be the MINIMUM suggested resolution from the beginning! When the food is good, it’s good but that’s been fading consistently. And for that price point it shouldn’t be a gamble. I am looking for a new go to Chinese restaurant.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 stars I was in town for a business trip and decided to stop by The Orient on a Wednesday evening after a long day of meetings. Since I wasn’t in the mood to sit down and eat, I went ahead and placed a call-ahead order for their House Lo Mein along with an order of fried chicken wings. The restaurant itself is fairly spacious with a nice, welcoming atmosphere once you step inside. The décor gives off a classic Chinese restaurant vibe that feels comfortable and relaxing. Parking, however, is a bit of a mixed bag. The spots right in front of the building are limited, so I ended up using the extended parking lot, which was a little dark and had that slightly eerie feeling at night — nothing too wild or dangerous, but definitely not the most well-lit area I’ve seen. When I arrived to pick up my order, I was pleasantly greeted right at the door by the staff, who provided genuinely friendly and efficient customer service. That warm welcome made the whole pickup process smooth and quick. Once I got back to my hotel room and finally dug into the food, I have to say the House Lo Mein was prepared with fresh ingredients and good quality noodles and vegetables. It wasn’t the most out

Delicious food and great service. We ordered the dumplings, hot braised chicken wings, sushi, bento box, house fried rice and the mandarin ribs which were so tender and delicious! Great atmosphere inside, spacious seating and there is a beautiful koi pond outside.

I recently dined at the Orient and I would say the experience was somewhat pleasant. I came in a little late though my server was attentive. I have a gluten allergy and she had no knowledge whatsoever about the sauces and the allergies, and didn’t really know what gluten was. I ended up asking the chef directly ( since I ate at the sushi bar). He checked and did his due diligence, though at one point asked me if mayo had gluten. I will say I usually feel unsafe regarding my allergy at a large majority of restaurants and this experience wasn’t any different. On the other hand the food was quite delicious. Definitely memorable, and that alone is worth coming back for. I usually frequent sushi village, though I would give this place another try. I ordered a beef udon for my friend and the server brought out the entree portion when I pointed to the side portion on the menu. We wanted to have our appetizer together and when she brought out my soup and not hers we were confused. When my entree came she brought out this huge bowl for my friend and we didn’t want to send it back solely due to the fact that it was late, and my allergy was already a hassle because of lack of knowledge. I got

We got there as a party of four. We didn’t have reservations as it was not suggested since weeknight dinner. Our host & the hibachi chef was excellent. We ordered filet-mignon & scallops, filet mignon & chicken meal. Next time I am there, I will ask the chef to cook my scallops much lightly ( it was slightly overcooked). The rice, vegetables & the filet-mignon were cooked to the perfection as we ordered. Great food & great service. Certainly will recommend to family and friends.
